Samaritan and Sunrise eye NSSF KAVC Primary Schools Title

There will be some familiar faces at this year’s edition of the NSSF KAVC Primary Schools Volleyball Tournament. Samaritan Primary School Namugongo is set to host the event on Sunday the 30th of July 2017. More than 100 local players will be in action by 9 am to determine the finalists. The finals will be held during the 21st NSSF KAVC INTERNATIONAL on 20th August 2017 prior to the women’s gold match at Lugogo indoor stadium.


“Our goal is to spread the word in the community to encourage everyone to come down and cheer on these phenomenal athletes,” said a KAVC organizer Levian Ashaba. “They have been training hard this season leading into the event. Primary Schools Volleyball has grown tremendously the recent years with over 30 Primary schools active in the country”


St James Primary Entebbe boys which is the only team this year to have beaten Sunrise and Samaritan when they met in Kumi, will be looking for their first major title in the boy’s category.


In the girls Category, Sunrise Primary Matugga will be looking for the 3rd title having won the previous 2 editions, the biggest rival is the host Samaritan Namugongo girls


The one-day tournament is to feature over 15 primary schools nationwide and is pitied to raise the year’s greatest competition in this category, especially with the entrants of teams such as Pic-Hill P/S, Matugga Junior School and Migadde Harvest P/S


The primary schools tournament is sponsored by NSSF.
